Backups and restores

Backups cover your application’s files and database. You can manage them from:

• the application’s page, using Backups & schedule in the Backup card, or
• Tools → Backups, by choosing the application.

Turn on scheduled backups

1. Under Schedule, tick Enable scheduled backups.
2. Choose a Frequency: Daily, or Weekly (Sundays).
3. Set Daily retention (days) between 3 and 30. The default is 7.
4. Click Save schedule.

Backups run at 3:00 AM UTC. Separately, one backup each month is kept as a Monthly backup for 6 months.

Take a backup now

Under Run now, click Backup now. Progress appears under the bell in the header.

Restore a backup

1. In the Backups table, find the backup by Date.
2. Click Restore and confirm.

Caution

Restoring replaces the application’s current files and database with the backup. Anything changed since that backup is lost.

Download or delete a backup

• Download prepares a file you can save to your computer.
• Delete removes a backup permanently.

Use Previous and Next to page through older backups.

Note

For WordPress, zip and tar archive files inside your site are skipped by default to keep backups small.
